The town of Burke is located in the North East Kingdom in the northern section of Caledonia county. The town was chartered in 1782 but wasn't settled until ten years later in 1792. Many of Burke's original landowners were given the land as payment for their participation in the American Revolution.
The town consists of Burke Hollow, East Burke, and West Burke. It is possibly best known for it's tourist attractions with include Burke Mountian in West Burke where you can ski and mountain bike depending on the season. There is also Kingdom Trails in East Burke which has trails for all seasons for cross country skiing and mountain biking. So no matter your interests Burke is bound to have something for you.
